Earth Jewelries

Bel is an innovator, advocate, and all round incredible guy. He has overcome many obstacles in his short life and has risen above them all.  He is an accomplished jewellery maker, musician and teacher.  However, Bel’s aspirations don’t end there. His greatest dream is to become an effective policy maker so that he may help to improve the lives of the many people who have experienced hardship and discrimination due to accidents and illness.

Bel is a landmine survivor and as a person living with a disability in Cambodia he found it incredibly hard to find work, despite his experience and credentials (Bel holds two university degrees). He decided to make his own work, but rather than focus on making profit for himself, he wanted to make sure that he could help others in the process.

Helping  others
In 2009 Bel started his own NGO
KILT (Khmer Independent Life Team) which provides shelter, free education and vocational training to vulnerable Cambodian children. KILT's mission is making and selling jewellery in order to provide a better future for Cambodian children and landmine victims. The products are all designed and made by Bel and others living with disabilities – providing an income for them as well as creating enough income to support the children living with Bel.
I support 17 children who were very poor, when I was small I had nothing and so I know what it’s like. I also support the landmine victims and other people with disabilities to get jobs.
